Worship in Hall House

This week we have been learning about when Jesus first met some of his disciples, and they decided that they wanted to follow him. We watched a story taken from chapter 5 of the Gospel of Luke, where  Simon Peter’s speaks of his fear that he wasn’t good enough to be Jesus friend. Jesus replied ‘do not be afraid’. This story reminds us that no matter who we are, no matter what we have or haven’t done, God loves us. God loves us so much that he sent his only Son to us, so that we could hear the good news of God’s love. Jesus invited Simon Peter to  leave his life as a fisherman and instead follow him to help Jesus spread the message of God’s love for every single person in the world. We thought that Simon Peter must have been very brave to put his trust in Jesus, but when he did, a great friendship grew. Sometimes we need to trust the people around us so that we can grow into new friendships and experiences.

Over the course of the rest of this term, we will continue to learn more about Jesus’ miracles and teachings, before learning more about the true meaning of Easter.
