The Wonders of Water Treatment
Year 6 enjoyed a somewhat soggy trip to the Countess Weir Water Treatment works and learnt about the various methods of separation employed there to turn raw sewage into drinking water.
There were a few wrinkled noses from time to time and we a decided that the “cake” byproduct was not appealing in any way! We do know now where to buy excellent quality fertiliser for our gardens however. The highlight of the trip was to be able to see the microorganisms that run the entire process in fabulous detail using their rather lovely microscope.
