Living History at Escot Park

On Friday 9th November Year 2 visited Escot Park for a fantastic day of Living History.

We delved into the past and enjoyed activities around the time of the Anglo Saxons. Our day started by trying to find our way through the magnificent beech tree maze. We then moved to the Saxon Village, where we spent the remainder of the morning.

Here activities included: milling and bread making, forging, pole lathing, making pennies, handling artefacts, mixing mud and straw to make houses and dressing up. After a well-earned lunch we encountered wolves, lynx, wild boar and red squirrels whilst we meandered through the majestic trees and learnt about how the Saxons used the plants around them.

Thank you so much to the parents who came along to help us and well done the children who made us proud of ECS.
