International Women’s Day
Hello, I am Ginevra D and I am in year 5. On Friday 8th March it is International Women’s Day and I’ve organised a ‘Penny Drive’ and a quiz to raise money for Amnesty International who do lots of work to support the rights of women in the developing world.
It’s just over 100 years since British women were able to vote but some countries have only given women the right to vote in our lifetime and there are women all over the world who still don’t even have basic rights. Please support this great cause by bringing your pennies in and adding them to our ‘Penny mural’.
There will also be lunchtime activities including a colouring competition and ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ – suggested donation of 50p a go.
Thank you so much!
