Deconstruction in ICT Club

Screwdrivers at the ready! ICT Club have been dismantling and re-building their computers.

This week pupils cracked open a PC to familiarise themselves with its inner workings. After opening the case, pupils explored the various elements that appear inside, including the motherboard, RAM, hard drive (SSD in this scenario), CPU, PSU, heat sinks and fans.

Pupils also looked at the different types of outputs on the back of the unit and how they relate to the important peripheral objects such as the monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse. We’re happy to confirm that everything was plugged in as we found it.
