Boarding House News

It has been quite challenging to pick one boarder who stood out from the rest of this wonderful community this term. For some of them who started to board last September, it was a completely new experience and they soon realised that it came with its challenges. However, less experienced boarders and old boarders all worked really hard and supported each other as a family and the boarding team is really pleased to see how much progress they have all made. Even our youngest boarders are growing in confidence and becoming more independent by the day.

Last week, Toby C (Year 7) was our first Star Boarder of the year. This week, even though they were all very good, Antoine CM (year 4), our youngest boarder, managed to get one extra vote and was awarded Star Boarder of the week. He has been the fist one to get on with his music practise every morning and he has worked hard at keeping his dorm tidy.

On Friday 7th February we will host our next Big Boarding Sleepover. The Boarding Team is organising Karaoke Night for pupils in Years 3-6. Over the course of the evening, there will be a variety of karaoke activities for children to enjoy. For this special event, the boarding team, composed of Ms Baxendale, Miss Pyman, Miss Roberts, Mr Guildford and myself will be looking after all the children, making sure they are happy and having a fun evening in the Boarding House. Of course, it would not be a Big Boarding Sleepover if we did not ask the children dress up – this time as pop stars or disco divas! There will be a competition for best boy singer, best girl singer and best duet. Please do not worry if, like me, you are not a great singer. It is all for fun! A letter has been sent to parents and guardians on the portal giving more details about this event.
