Year 3 travelled back in time this week.
Dressed as evacuees, plus a few soldiers, we visited Tiverton Museum of Mid-Devon Life to take part in a series of World War II workshops. The children had the opportunity to sample a wartime diet of powdered milk, powdered egg omelettes and potato cakes – delicious!
We found out how to Make Do and Mend and sat in an Anderson shelter while Bert, a museum volunteer, told us what being an evacuee during the war was really like.
