Sport under the rainbow

Winter is fast approaching, and we’ve had our first chills at Games this week. The pupils have embraced the fresh crisp air and we have remained thankful for enjoying outdoor space and being back at the University hockey AstroTurf pitches, even if it is for a limited time.

The boys continue to get muddy and enjoy their rugby and are loving being able to progress to 1:1 tackling and rucking, as per the RFU Guidelines. Please can I ask that boys are wearing shorts under their tracksuit bottoms so we can then keep tracksuit bottoms as clean as possible. A base layer or coat would also protect the tracksuit top too, I am conscious that turnaround time for washing kit is very tight.

We had some new pupils join us this week, which was very exciting, they brought lots of enthusiasm to PE, FMS and Games. Well done on making a new school transition look very easy.

The senior girls (years 5,6,7 and 8) finished off the week with their House Hockey competition. It was very close, some lovely link up play and goal scoring was on display, but the House to sneak the victory was Quivil. Our Senior Players of the Tournament were Poppy McC, Hetty T, Rosalila G and Ellie May B

A reminder that every pupil should have a spare set of sports clothing left in school on their peg, it does not have to be ECS branded, as close to dark colours as possible would be preferable. We aim to keep all physical activity outdoors where possible so a change of clothing may be needed on occasion.

We’ve had a lovely week of sport, I will update you of any changes to the programme as it happens. Please keep checking emails on the portal.
