It was the final week of fixtures before the Christmas break and the pupils were excited to end the term on a high note. On Wednesday the Year 5 and 6 pupils were off to Wellington for some hockey and rugby matches. All pupils played a part in representing ECS and did a great job. Some closely contested matches and some outstanding performances resulted in a fantastic afternoon of sport.
On Thursday the senior girls hockey teams played under the bright lights of Isca College astro hockey pitch. The enthusiasm was brilliant and the girls played the best hockey they have played all season, a fitting end to the season for them. Players of the match were Poppy Mc (Year 7) and Maria N (Year 7). Special mention to Maria N who stepped in to play goalkeeper at the last minute, a great performance between the posts, well done Maria.
This week we look forward to our ever so competitive Interhouse hockey and rugby matches. We also have our Interhouse Cross Country and some pre season netball for the girls and pre season hockey for the boys.
Thank you for a wonderful term of sport. Whether it was on the hockey pitch, rugby field, swimming pool, in PE, health and wellbeing or enrichment lessons. The pupils have all been amazing. I have included some pictures from our curriculum lessons so you can have a little peek at what the children get up to behind the scenes.
Best wishes,
Mrs Emma Ross
