Save the Children

Chantry children have been introduced to our Save the Children Christmas Jumper Campaign in assemblies and in form time recently. This is charity that we support every other year and which raises vital funds for children across the world.

All members of the school are invited to come into school wearing home clothes INCLUDING A CHRISTMAS JUMPER on 13thDecember 2018, the penultimate day of term, and to bring in one of two donation options.

Either, a donation of £2 or more, or, a homemade Christmas card for a child who will be in hospital this Christmas.  The cards will be sent to Great Ormond Street hospital, London and to the R D and E in Exeter.

Christmas Jumpers can be bought or homemade.  There is also a Christmas Jumper club with spaces available run by Mrs Lake-Johns on Tuesdays from 4-5pm.  Pupils arrive with a jumper that they have permission to cut up or sew onto and will complete their designs in time for 13th December.  There are no rules for the jumpers, go as wild as you can!

Please email Mrs Lake-Johns on [email protected] if you want your child to join after half-term.

You can design any kind of Christmas card but it must be totally home-made.  Just write a friendly message inside for a child who will be in hospital this Christmas.  You can give your first name if you want to, the name of our school and some interesting facts about yourself.  (But not your address)

Last year, this campaign raised £4 391 821 just through people wearing crazy jumpers for one day.
