News from Hall House

A very warm welcome to the Michaelmas term from the Pre-Prep team! It has been lovely to welcome all the children back to school and witness their enthusiasm and fresh faces (complimenting beautifully the fresh, new look to the HH reception area!) and their keenness to embrace the new challenges that await them in this coming school year. Here’s a little snapshot of what lies ahead this term…

The Nursery children (Bumblebees) are looking forward to talking about themselves and their families as they settle into the nursery routine and environment. They will then be learning traditional fairy tales and enjoying climbing the beanstalk, chasing the gingerbread man and helping to pull up the enormous turnip.

The Reception classes are already embracing their new class names and identities (Frogs and Ladybirds) and are getting to know their new classmates. They are looking forward to a visit to ‘Touch of the Wild’ where they will enjoy a day exploring and playing in the woods.

In Year 1, Hedgehogs and Owls are looking forward to an exciting visit from a Barn owl, an informative trip to Cricklepit Mill (Devon Wildlife Trust), and an interesting talk from a meteorologist.

Year 2 are learning about Homes in different places. They will soon be visiting Escot to learn how Saxon people used to live.

So, an exciting term ahead for us all! Do keep an eye out for our weekly Pre-Prep updates in the Newsletter; we love to share our learning with you all.
