International Women’s Day

We welcomed Emma Laws to our International Women’s Day assembly this week. Emma explained her 20 year career as a curator for the V&A in London and described the 4 year planning and creation of her most successful “Winnie the Pooh, Exploring a classic” exhibition. The children were treated to an in depth examination of the artefacts and the illustrations of Shepherd.
Emma then delivered a literacy session for the younger children which gave them all a chance to try reading some of Milne’s poems for themselves.
As we all now know: “poetry should be read out loud on tiptoes”, see the demonstration from Emma below!
