FECS Letter 13th July

As we get closer to the end of term we have been busy planning dates and events for the start of the next academic term. One of our first events back will be the FECS coffee morning on 14th September, where we hope to see as many of you as possible along with many new parents that we will be welcoming to the school.  We have some new events next year too, such as movie nights for the pupils throughout the school and also this year we will be hosting a Harvest Barn Dance instead of the annual FECS Christmas Dinner and Dance.  This will take place on 12th October in The Chapter House, so please save the date as it’s set to be a fun night.

In today’s Hall House assembly, our Hall House representative Rachel Harrison presented our Year 2 pupils with a rather impressive trophy and certificate for winning the Hall House Cake Sale competition and raising a whopping £204.10. Well done to Year 2!

Plans for the Chantry playground improvements have now passed final approval by the school council, and hopefully are set to take place during the summer holiday if all goes to plan.  FECS will be donating £10,000 towards the cost of this project.  In addition to this we have also agreed to fund 3 wooden picnic benches, some planters and plants for an outside classroom situated in the area by the Coach House.  This will transform the area into another great space for the pupils to use.  Finally we have also agreed to fund some new scooter racks for Hall House, these will be placed on the newly decked area next to the entrance.

Committee member nominations

At the start of each academic year all committee members wishing to stand again must be put forward again for nomination.  We are always looking for new members to join the FECS committee to help with fundraising, running of events and input into the allocation of funds, so if you are interested in joining us please do contact me on [email protected].  We are a friendly bunch and would warmly welcome anyone interested in getting involved.  Our AGM will be taking place on 18th September 2018 in the Headmaster’s drawing room, everyone is welcome.
