FECS Letter 6th December

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to the Christmas Fair on 16th November. This year it coincided with the opening of the Christmas Market and although mid-November seems a little early to start celebrating Christmas everyone was keen to get into the Christmas spirit – and some of us enjoyed our first mulled wine of the season! The kids had a fantastic time and, yet again, demonstrated that ECS is a wonderful family school with a really strong sense of community.

FECS would also like to thank all staff and stall-holders who gave up their time to help raise funds for our school. We raise money for all those icing-on-the-cake things – from beautiful library furniture to one-off activities and experiences. We couldn’t do it without your help. A special thanks to Macaulay and the maintenance team, Leigh for his bacon sandwiches, Pete Groves for his superb dramatic performance, Keith Burt, Catherine Lake-Johns, Zoe Reavill, Herbert and Adam from Adams Car Stuff who performed winter checks on our cars, Mr Baurance and Alice (Year 8) and Hetty (Year 6) and Toby (Year 7) – the list goes on. A special thank you to James Featherstone for the use of the Chantry again this year and for announcing the raffle and games winners, including Bertie Williamson who won the Six Sock Challenge! Thank you, too, to all the parent volunteers and to everyone who donated raffle prizes and toys, etc. We really appreciate your help.

Next year we are planning a few changes to the Christmas Fair to make it even better – we know that numbers were down this year and we’ve been thinking of ways to improve our activities. Let us know if you have any great ideas you’d like us to consider – or why not come along to our next General Meeting and tell us over a glass of wine?!

Or, email us at: [email protected]

Here’s a list of our forthcoming events – put them in your diaries!
