Boarding House News
Star Boarder of the Week this week is Edward K (Year 5). He has had a fantastic two weeks and is taking his role as an experienced boarder seriously. He is a good role model for the new younger boarders who only started at the school this year. Edward has been trying really hard to keep his dorm tidy and has put a lot of effort into organising himself. Edward’s behaviour has been very good too.

On Friday night the boarders went to Exmouth to have a relaxing walk on the beach at sunset before eating some ice cream. On Saturday night, our lucky boarders went to a deserts restaurant in Exeter to enjoy some delicious ice cream and waffles. On Sunday evening, we organised a short trip to the Bull Meadow park in Exeter where the boarders had a lot of fun before starting a new week at school.

In the evenings, all our boarders have the opportunity to play some ball games in the gym and on the playground or they can choose to go to the games room to play some pool, air hockey, table tennis or some video games.

On Tuesday 1st October, there will be a boarder’s tea party for pupils and parents to attend if they wish to meet the boarding team, especially Mrs Baxendale and Mr Guildford, our new Housematron and gap. Bookings for this event are available on the Portal and will appear in Week 5.

On Friday 12th October, we are organising a Big Boarding Sleepover for Year 3-8 pupils. The theme for the evening will be Halloween. There will be a costume competition and a variety of activities organised during the evening. Bookings for this event are not yet available on the Portal but a letter will be sent home in the next few days.

On Wednesday 11th December, the boarding house is organising a trip to the pantomime Beauty and the Beast at the Northcott Theatre in Exeter. Bookings for this event are available on the Portal and will appear in Week 15.

Please do not hesitate to contact the boarding team at [email protected] if you have any questions about boarding or if you would like to make a booking.

You can also call the Boarding House Mobile on 07375 546 174 if you would like to talk to a member of the boarding team or if you would like to chat with your child/children. More and more parents are using Whatsapp in order to receive pictures and videos of their children while they are under our care. Please let us know by sending us a text message on the app if you would like to receive some as well.

On behalf of the boarding team, I wish all our boarders and their family a relaxing weekend.
