Boarding House News

It was lovely to meet all the new children and their families last week on Tuesday afternoon in Hall House. Children and parents got an opportunity to meet the boarding team and its new members – Mrs Baxendale is our new House-matron and Mr Guildford, who was a student here a few years ago, is our new gap.

Despite a few children feeling a bit homesick in the evenings, which is completely normal after spending the whole summer at home, everyone has started to settle down slowly. They have all started their boarding induction and should be able to answer any questions about boarding. Parents can test them at the weekend!

Here is a picture of our new boarders along with some more experienced boarders on their first morning before school, all looking smart, happy and excited to do some learning, see their old friends and make some new friendships:

Boarders have been playing board games in the evenings. What a fantastic way to spend time together and make new friends!

Our first Star Boarder of the Week this year is Toby C (Year 7). Toby has been a pleasure to look after in the boarding house. He is well behaved, has good manners and he always keeps his dorm tidy. He has also been working hard on his prep. Well done Toby!

Please do not hesitate to contact the boarding team at [email protected]

You can also call the Boarding House Mobile on 07375 546 174 if you would like to talk to a member of the boarding team or if you would like to chat with your child/children. We do like to use Whatsapp to send parents pictures so if you do not have the App on your phone, please download it (it’s completely free) and we will be happy to share some boarding moments with you.

On behalf of the boarding team, I wish all our boarders a wonderful year.
