Boarding House News

For the last three weeks, the boarding community had the pleasure to welcome Roman (Year 5) from Russia. At first, Roman was only joining the school for two weeks but he enjoyed it so much that him and family decided to stay an extra week, which was very good news for all of us. He left the school on Friday 28th June and we were all very sad to see him leave. We wish him all the best and hope that he will visit us again next year.

During the three weeks Roman was with us, the boys in his class and in the Boarding House made him feel very welcome, especially Edward K and James MC whom Roman was sharing a dorm with. James MC is always caring and very good at looking after younger boarders or visitors, and he did a fantastic job these last three weeks and therefore he deserves to be star boarder of the week.

On Monday 24th June, Miss Rhodes and Miss Tyler organised a special evening in order to say goodbye to the boarders. Miss Tyler is finishing her gap year at ECS before going to University in September and Miss Rhodes, though she is staying with us at the school, has decided to focus on her teaching assistant job in Pre-Prep. For the occasion, we also were delighted to have the visit of Miss Marshal, who I am sure you will remember, was a gap at the school last year. Both Miss Rhodes and Miss Tyler will be missed and the whole boarding community thank them for their hard work and care. Thank you for organising such a lovely evening for the boarders, and thank you also to the catering team for making such delicious food for us all.

On Thursday 27th June, some of our older boarders were involved in the Year 7 and 8 play. Well done to them for working so hard and for a fantastic performance. Before the show, all the boarders enjoyed a Spanish supper. They were all very happy. Thank you again to the catering team for preparing such a treat.

Finally, regarding the arrangements for the end of term, please may I ask parents to refer to the letter I sent on the portal on Thursday 27th June. If you would like to talk to me about these arrangements, please do not hesitate to email me at boarding@exetercs.org.
