We’ve had a wonderful sunny week in boarding…

On Friday night all the boarders enjoyed a game of cricket in the last of the sun on playground with Mr Farrow. We were soon joined by Mr Featherstone who got us running all over the playground after the ball. Such a lovely atmosphere.

Over the Easter holidays the bistro in the boarding house has had a lick of paint to make it a brighter and more cheerful place to relax after a long day at school. It’s been given the thumbs up by the boarders who have been enjoying some social time in there in the evenings.

On Monday we celebrated St Georges Day with good old fashioned take away fish and chips. The children were in good spirits and enjoyed the decorations.

Coming up in June we have a few Boarding events to coincide with The Boarding School Associations ‘National Boarding Week’ which is running from the 18th – 24th June. With the schools ever busy schedules we have planned our events as close to this week as possible.

First up in our Big Boarding Sleepover on Friday 8th June. If any child in Prep would like a taste of what boarding is all about this is their chance to come and try it out. Get them to round up their friends and come and have a big, fun sleepover with us. We’ll have a yummy supper followed by all sorts of activities. Cricket in the playground to a movie and popcorn in the common room. Games in the games room and crafty activities too. They can share a dorm with friends and maybe even make new friends. Our tuck basket will be open for business and there’ll be Mrs Lacey’s famous ‘Mrs Jolly’s hot choc trolley’ in action too! All rounded off with a delicious breakfast in the morning. A fun night away for the kids and maybe a quiet night in (or out) for Mum and Dad! We are offering this at £30 per child for the night. Look out for posters around the school. Bookings have already begun!

Also coming up is our Boarding BBQ on Saturday 23rd June. A chance to relax with friends over a burger and garden games. Boarders will be on hand with fun and frolics. There’ll be games and a chance to win some prizes, music, food and a chance to view the boarding house if you so wish. This will be a ticketed event. More to follow next week…

And last but certainly not least The Boarders Panto. Our lovely boarder Rowan A has been busy putting pen to paper and has written up another wonderful panto tale for us. This year it’s Peter Pan. Oh no it isn’t! Oh yes it is! The boarders have been more organised this year and rehearsals started long ago. Do pop along on the evening of Thursday 28th June for giggles and good cheer! This was lots of fun last year and also a great chance to raise some money for some worthy charities.

Keep your eyes peeled for more info on all our events. We look forward to seeing you there.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
