Boarding House News

This has been a very positive start of the Lent Term in the Boarding House. All our lovely boarders have been fantastic in terms of prep, music practice, reading, tidiness and behaviour. It bodes well for the rest of the term.

We have had the pleasure to welcome our two new gap students to the boarding community. Miss Wurst and Mr Eggar, both from Adelaide, Australia, arrived late last Saturday night after a very long and tiring trip. They will put a brave face on but they are still recovering from the jetlag. On behalf of all the boarders and the boarding house staff, I would like to wish them both the best for the year to come. They have already made quite an impression!

Star boarder of the week is Hector K (Year 8). Though under quite a lot of pressure with some very important forthcoming music exams, Hector has remained the kind, caring and reliable boy he has always been. On top of his prep and other school commitments, he has been working on his music every single day in the morning and evening, and I am sure no one will disagree with me if I say it is always a pleasure to listen to him play the oboe and the piano. Well done Hector!

On Friday 8th February is our next big event in the Boarding House: the Big One-sie Sleepover! All parents will receive an email in the next couple of weeks. As our two previous events (the Big Harry Potter sleepover and the Christmas Panto Sleepover) have been extremely popular, I will, once again, have to draw names out of a hat to make sure each child has a fair chance of being part of the fun.
