Exeter Cathedral School is proud to be a member of the BSA (Boarding Schools’ Association), and to be the only School in Exeter to offer boarding.
Our small and cosy boarding house is called Eyre House and is run by our Head of Boarding, Mrs Lacey, and her husband (and their two cuddly dogs): she is supported by our Boarding House Matron and other resident members of staff. Eyre House is situated on the Eastern side of our main site, and can accommodate up to 40 boarders, with girls and boys on separate corridors. Comfortable dormitories (some large, some small), the Common Room, the Prep Room, the Games Room, the Bistro, the Houseparents’ Flat, and the nine pianos (!) make the Boarding House a fun, cosy, and friendly place to be.
We offer full-boarding, weekly-boarding, flexi-boarding or occasional-boarding: the choice is entirely yours. Lots of our Boarders are Choristers, but by no means all, and Eyre House is a happy and relaxed mix of ages (from 7 to 13), boys and girls, regulars and flexis. The one thing they all have in common is that the love the boarding house and ending their day by gathering in the Common Room in their pjs and dressing gown to enjoy a cuppa from Mrs Jolly’s Hot Choc Trolley.
