World Book Day!
We had to postpone World Book Day last week due to the snow. Pupils were delighted to dress up as their favourite book character today. Miss Cox led a special World Book Day assembly for Years 3 – 8 . Pre-Prep Pupils also enjoyed dressing up, which coincided with a Mothers’ Day Celebration!
Masses Of Fun in Year 1!
So if it is big it is heavy and if it is small it is light…or is it? The children in 1FM have enjoyed developing their understanding of mass during a week of weighing activities. They have compared and described the mass of all sorts of objects using balance scales. Who knew our space monkey […]

Pre-Prep Mothers’ Day Celebrations
Hall House welcomed all our wonderful mums to join in our celebration of Mothers’ Day. Having written to the ECS community […]
Year 1B Scientists of the Future!
Testing the properties of materials: How can I find out if a material is transparent, absorbent, bendy or waterproof? 1B worked independently to design their own experiments, choosing objects from the classroom and considering how to test them. They recorded their findings on results tables then discussed how they could have improved their experiments. A fantastic learning experience! […]
Nursery Open Morning

It was fantastic to see 18 prospective families at last Saturday’s Nursery Open Day “Spring Explorers”. The sun was shining brightly and the children were soon busily occupied in the many and varied activities that had been organised for them. Enormous thanks to Mrs Oelmann, Mrs Holder and Miss Rhodes for providing such a good […]
ECS Equestrian
Connie was busy this half term preparing her pony “Sunny” for the new season of competitions. The work which is put in at home is especially important with a young pony in order to prepare them for competing in a busy and exciting setting. Exposure to many different types of fences is also worthwhile. Connie […]
