After a restful break the pupils were back on the Games pitches for more fixtures in netball and hockey while in PE the focus turned to racket sports. Swimming continued as normal and the Sports Enrichment groups swapped over so the Year 7s can start their preparation for sports scholarship application next year.

On Wednesday all the girls in Year 5-8 were flying the flag for ECS while the boys focused on elements of their training at Crediton leisure centre, outdoor astro turf pitch. The Senior girls hosted Wellington in two enjoyable matches, it was an afternoon of every season, we had sunshine and hail within 5 minutes of each other. Despite the elements the girls did exceptionally well and special mention to Xanthe S and Poppy McC who were stalwarts in defence for the senior girls. Anya W also slotted in for the team in a position she has never played before and did really well. The Year 5 and 6 girls travelled to Blundell’s for a triangular fixture with Blundell’s and Exeter School, all girls really enjoyed the variety of matches and showed real determination, well done.

On Thursday the Year 3 and 4 pupils were out in force. The boys hosted St Peter’s at the University astro turf and played some really impressive hockey. The Year 4 boys moved the ball nicely and there were some lovely team goals scored. Special mention to George A who worked his socks off on the right wing and battled for every ball and Adam H who led by example as captain for the afternoon. The Year 3 girls hosted Maynard and Exeter School for some BEE Netball while the Year 4 girls travelled to Exeter School for the same triangular against their age group. A very enjoyable afternoon by all accounts.

Well one everyone on another great week.

Have a lovey weekend,
